June 2 Update

This will be my last email from Hawai’i. Below is an email I sent Doug Quinn outlining our agenda the next three days. As soon as I get settled in Denver I will let you know Peter’s address. Pray for a smooth transition to Denver. Peter is looking forward to the next step so he can start working toward recovery. We have many friends in the Denver area and it will be our new home away from home.

Doug,I have added you to my email list. I do not know if you know what happen. He had a rare occurrence happen to him while surfing called surfer’s myelopathy. First of all I want you to know that Peter’s attitude is awesome. I can contribute that to all the prayers from all over the country, but the text messaging, prayers and emails from his friends back home is the best medicine he can receive at this time. Everyone back in BA has been keeping him positive and busy with all their emails and text messages. The outpouring of help and concern has been unbelievable. Peter will be transported by United Airlines Tuesday evening and arrive in Denver on Wed. morning at 7:20. This is a non stop flight and he will have a flight nurse with him., He will be admitted to Craig Rehab hospital for therapy from 45-60 days. Longer if necessary. This will be very grueling physical therapy. Due to complications beyond our control, I will be flying on AA Tuesday morning and arriving in Denver Tuesday night at midnight. Janet will get Peter on the plane with the flight nurse and then she will have to stay in Honolulu an extra day. She departs on Wed. and will arrive in Denver on Thursday. As soon as we get settled, I will let everyone know Peter’s address and status. Thanks for all you do for our BA youth.
