June 4 Update

By Bud | June 4, 2008

We have finally made it to Denver. I was able to meet Peter at the gate. We checked in to Craig Rehab hospital this morning. Peter had a direct flight from Honolulu. He did fine on the flight. We were lucky because if anything had gone wrong, his doctor from Honolulu was on the same flight. She is attending a conference here. Peter also had a flight nurse with him.

We met two girls here at Craig that had the same thing happen to them and their paraylsis was about the same level as Pete’s. Their incidents happen in March during Spring Break. The 16 year old girl is walking with crutches and will be dismissed on Friday. The 20 year old remains in wheel chair. Her attitude is great and she tells me that she is starting to get feeling in the pelvic area. When she got here her paralysis was about 4 inches above the belly button. She will be dismissed June 15.

A Mr. Matthews and his daughter, who lives here in Denver, came by this morning to see Peter. We had just helped Peter in his bed and I turned around and here was this man and his daughter standing there. I asked if I could help them and they said they came to see him, pointing to Peter. I said well that is Peter Jessee, thinking they had the wrong person and they said, we know. Someone, and I did not obtain their name, had emailed him asking if they would come by and visit Peter. So whoever it was, thank you, angels are all around us.

For some reason cell phone reception is not good in this hospital. Keep trying to call and text message him. He really enjoys the text messages.

Janet will arrive here from Honolulu tomorrow morning.(Thursday) Many of you have asked about Whitney. She is back in Tulsa helping us there. She is a big help with many different personal matters that use to be routine. We could not be doing this with out her help.

I can not thank all of you enough for all the prayers, words of encouragement, and help you have given. Keep the prayers going because today we have started a new phase in this process and we know that God will give us the strength to overcome this occurrence.

God Bless all of you
Bud
