Friends,

Peter has been sick the last week battling a stomach virus.  It’s been back and forth this past last week trying to get him healthy and to stay hydrated. Hopefully he will be able to return to physical therapy today.  I’m sure he’s sick and tired of seeing our faces and will do anything to get out of the house.   Last Wednesday they did take some leg impressions at OU for braces.  We are still on target to get those about mid February.  They are to be worn on the outside of Peter’s clothing and will be just to get him on his feet and taking a few steps around the house.  For instance, from the kitchen table to the refrigerator and so forth.  Then as time goes by and his strength improves the braces can be modified for different movements and worn for longer periods of time.  It takes about 4-5 weeks for the braces to be engineered and manufactured since it is a custom fit.
 
Peter, Whitney and I did managed to take the dogs for a walk yesterday.  I’m sure it was pretty comical for our neighbors to see us trying to manage a puppy on a leash.  It took all three of us to keep everything from getting all tangled up.  This new puppy business is hard!
 
Next time we will have more improvement as Peter returns to PT full strength!
