Today was such a great day I could not wait to let everyone know. Talk about answered prayers, today was an answered prayer from all of you and the hundreds of others that receive your forwarded emails. The attached picture is Peter walking down the hallway at OU Med Center with his braces. Professor Shirley James is behind him only to spot him if he was to fall backwards of which he never did. He had already walked 150 feet with Professor James supporting his knees and 20 minutes on the LoKoMat before the leg braces arrived. We then strapped the braces on and he walked another 75 feet on his own as seen in the picture. After doing all of this the one thing I noticed is he was not as exhausted as he use to get. He is getting stronger. They kept the braces to make some minor adjustments, but they will come home with Peter on Wednesday. The expression on his face was priceless. The glow in his face brought tears to my eyes. If it had not been for his therapist at St. Johns, Janet Day and Brad Potts, his pool therapist from St Francis, Debbie Beicaler, and everyone at the OU Med Center working toward this immediate goal, today would not have happen. Thanks to God for providing all of these resources for us, today was a turning point and it is just a matter of time before…………………………..
He will walk again on his own
