May 05, 2009 - Tuesday

The last week has shown some signs of muscles in his lower back starting to return. Last Monday Peter’s glute muscles reacted to electrical stimulation for the first time while at acupuncture. Today the glutes reacted again to acupuncture and so did a couple of muscles a little above the tail bone. This was the first time these muscles have ever reacted to electrical stimulation. Sunday Peter walked with his walker 200 feet, rested sitting down for about five minutes and then walked another 200 feet. He is gradually getting stronger.

Praise report this week goes to Brandon Stone from Broken Arrow, OK. Brandon was injured in a car accident four years ago and has been paralyzed. Today he called us and told Peter he took five steps with leg braces and a walker. Praise the Lord for this miracle that is in the works. Brandon will walk again.

I want to share my thoughts with you on a controversial issue. I have discussed this issue with a minister and I hope everyone has an open mind. Stem Cell research. After talking to the minister and realizing his opinion was the same as mind that life begins in a woman’s womb, I decided to share the attached article that was in the May 2nd Tulsa World. We do not support abortion. Abortion is wrong and is killing a human being. Nor do I believe it is right to clone. There are so many other ways for stem cells to help millions of people, that not to explore their potential is morally wrong to those that suffer daily. Our health care system could be using umbilical cords from every child born to obtain stem cells. Not only would we be giving life to the newborn but possibly a new life to someone that has a spinal cord injury or Parkinson, or multiple sclerosis, or muscular dystrophy or cancer patients, or a stroke victim. Embryonic stem cells could be used from embryo’s that have not been in a woman’s womb and are going to be thrown away as the article states. I do not understand how people feel that it is not ok to use the embryo’s for stem cell research but it is ok to throw them away as medical waste. If they believe you are destroying a human being, then why are we allowing them to be thrown away. The attached article does explain many ways for stem cell research. Please read and then ask yourself, if that was my son sitting in that wheelchair, what would be my view on stem cell research. It may be a hope for us and millions of others.

I know this is controversial and I hope I have not offended anyone because we need your daily prayers. God has provided many miracles in this worlds history. Through scientist that God gave the knowledge and wisdom to, we have landed a man on the moon, cured polio, created penicillin,  provided treatment for cancer, stopped smallpox and many other cures. It is God giving the doctors and scientist the knowledge to beat evil and the works of the enemy. God heals and he does it in many different forms. The enemy kills and makes Gods people suffer. God has provided us many different ways for Peter to get better and I hope we can continue on the path that God provides us whatever it might be and someday through God’s will and his miracles……………….

He will walk again
