About
After graduating from Broken Arrow High School Peter and his family took a vacation to Hawaii. On May 23, 2008, Peter was taking surfing lessons in Waikiki when his back started to hurt. They rushed him to the hospital where he was diagnosed with Surfer’s Myelopathy. He has been paralyzed from the waist down since that time.
Surfer’s Myelopathy occurs when the spine is bent at acute angles, usually with new surfers, thereby cutting off the flow of blood to the spine. According to various articles the recovery rate is nearly 80%. Please keep Peter in your prayers that he may have a complete recovery.
Peter has since transferred to Craig Hospital in Denver. He has daily physical therapy classes. He has experienced some healing and has had some movement in his legs and toes.
Prior to his injury Peter was a star athlete on the Broken Arrow football, soccer, and hockey teams. His teammates and classmates are in constant contact with Peter.
Peter, I used to be a patient @ Craig. I would love to chance to drop by and pay ya a visit.
